Casaroro Waterfall

  Yesterday we decided to take a leisurely stroll to the Casaroro waterfall. The day was perfect a few clouds, nice breeze, warm but we were going up in to the mountain area were the air is cooler. The resort sent two guides, lunch, juice, fruit and water for our journey. The 40 minute van ride took us threw Dumaguete, then up the mountainside as far as the van could go, we then had to walk-up hill an additional 3/4 mile to the park entrance. At the entrance there is a sign in book where you need to sign in with your name, age and address, we discovered afterwards that's so they know where to send your body, just kidding.
  There are 334 steps down to the waterfall, a beautiful scenic jungle area unfolds before our eyes. The sun glistening off the tropical plants as we continue our downward climb. Soon we could hear the growing roar of the falls ahead of us, which was a good thing, because our legs were turning into marshmallows. Who would think that climbing down stairs would take such a toll on our legs.
  As we came around the final turn the falls came into view, a sight that made the journey worth while. I took an hours worth of photos and video. Note for the best results bring a tripod it made all the difference in the world with photos, but made the video smooth, no shake. 
  As we ate lunch with the roar of the falls, the beauty of the lush jungle around us, we realized that we had 334 up hill stairs ahead of us. Let's jump ahead, because I can't write all the things we were saying or thinking as we counted everyone of those 334 steps. We are now at the top, proud of our accomplishment. 
  The trip was fantastic, well worth it, but it took it's toll, My legs are killing me today.

The resort is surpassing all of our expectations, the staff is amazing. As for the food it is superb and again the staff is amazing they will change anything on the menu to accommodate your needs and taste.

End of a long day!

Well the sun is setting and the day is coming to an end, but the diving starts at 8 AM.


 I am very impressed with the resort and their staff, we can't go anywhere were there isn't someone wanting to help us. Jane is already at the spa getting a relaxing massage, just so she can report to all of you about the service. Got to love her, putting herself through all of that for you. What a trooper.

Yes, we're finally in paradise, blue skies, warm, sunny, everything that we expected it to be, but we're tired so we are going to take a nap.

Well we are on our way. 1^st stop Las Vegas where we had a 6 hour layover, but not to worry a 6 minute taxi ride to the Hard Rock Café for some chicken nachos and life is good.

Left Vegas at 7:20 heading for Vancouver a 2 hour 50 minute flight, best thing is the plane wasn’t even ½ full. After arriving in Vancouver we had to disembark into a holding area while the plane refueled. When we boarded there were more passengers, but the flight still wasn’t full. I will say that the flight from Vancouver to Manila was 14 hours long it was smooth, comfortable and Jane and I were both able sleep.

Upon our arrival in Manila we were met by a representative from Atmosphere Resort who walked us through customs, showed us through the airport to our departure gates, helped us pay airport fee ($5.40 US), and took our carry-on’s to be tagged.

Now we wait for the final connection, almost there.

The Adventure Begins

Welcome to you all.


Today we start our adventure to Atmosphere Resort, Philippines. Jane and I are sitting in TIA waiting for our flight to Las Vegas, a flight that starts the adventure by being delayed. No worries our flight out of Vegas is at 7PM tonight, Tip-always give yourself plenty of lead time when making your reservations.

I will try to make my post as entertaining as I can and as often as I can. This trip is to research the Atmosphere resort for our upcoming trips in July and August of 2012. Yes, thats right we have added a second trip in August because the July trip has already Sold Out,  that makes 44 more spots available.
